What NOT to do in our daily face care routine

What NOT to do in our daily face care routine

When we talk about skin care we always see the guidelines of what to do or how to do it, but it is just as important what we should not do. We often do the right routine with the right products, but it does not give us the result we expect and it is very easy for us to make some mistakes. In today’s post I will try to shed some light on mistakes that we should not make. What NOT to do in our daily face care routine. Shall we start?

1- The order of the factors does alter the product. The products are applied in an orderly fashion so that they penetrate to the layers in which they are to be used. If we apply the cream before the serum, for example, the serum will not penetrate the skin because the cream will act as a barrier due to its denser texture. Therefore, the correct order of application is: facial cleaning products, tonic, mask, serum, eye contour, cream and sunscreen.

2- Apply to the eye contour area by massaging it in as if it were a normal cream. The eye contour area has the thinnest skin in the whole face, so it needs more specific care and a different way of applying it. To apply a good eye contour, you should apply a quantity the size of a grain of rice on the ring finger (because it is the one with the least strength) and apply it with small touches from the cheekbone making a circle around the eye up to the eyebrow.

3- Forget about the neck and neckline. These two parts of the body as well as the hands are a few sneaks of the age. We often forget to use face care products on the neck and neckline and we do not realise that we are gradually slowing down and slowing down the ageing process in the face area and there is more and more difference with the skin of the neck and neckline, so from now on do not forget to reach these parts also during your daily routine.

4- Do not moisturize your skin because you have oily skin. A friend of mine recently asked me if it was possible to have dehydrated and oily skin, the answer is yes. Hydration and oil are two completely different things. We are looking to keep our skin cells healthy and watered-down for a fresh, healthy look thanks to the hydration. On the other hand, the fat is the sebium that generates our skin, in fact, a dehydrated skin generates more fat trying to compensate for the lack of hydration. The key is to find a cream that moisturizes, but without being occlusive or comedogenic. For this purpose, gel textures are ideal.

5- Protect the skin from the sun only in summer. Every time this topic comes up I try to emphasize it. We must protect our skin from the sun every day, whatever the season and even if it is cloudy. By protecting the skin from the sun every day, we stop premature ageing and the appearance of free radicals.

6- Do not store the products in a suitable place. There are many factors that can cause skin care products to lose their properties, such as heat, humidity, the sun, etc., so we must keep them in a place where we can guarantee that they will be perfectly preserved. Almost everyone’s first choice of storage is in the bathroom, but it is probably not the best place because when we shower we create a very humid environment and increase the heat and with this we can increase the chances of fungus and bacteria proliferating.

These are very basic points to optimize our facial routine and get the best results, if you want me to do more posts of this style, not only stressing how we should do the facial routine but also explaining the things that should not be done, leave it in the comments and I hope you enjoy reading, as much as I enjoy writing.
