The other day I was lucky enough to attend a make-up course in London. I had always wanted to do it but for one reason or another I had never done it and by chance of life, I met Vivien (@viv_381) and Maria (@mariapaula_x) and I dared to do it with them. I could not make a better decision. They are two super professionals who teach you from scratch and I learned a lot with them, from the baking technique, which because of my dry skin I always thought I was going to have very stiff skin, to how to put false eyelashes. It is a totally personalised course and they make sure you feel at home. We did a total glam look that lasted all night and then I was really sorry to remove my make-up… I had never seen my skin so smooth and so beautiful.
We start by doing a double cleansing with exfoliation to leave a clean skin ready to start with the makeup.
We started by using a primer on the areas where our face needed it, in my case, on the nose, forehead and chin flaps which is where I have the most pores and the primer served to conceal them.
I have to emphasize that the course uses top quality materials from the top brands on the market.
After the primer, we started the application of the base, they explained to me how to apply it because I have always put it directly on the face and from there it is already blurred but there is another technique much better (thanks girls) and if you want to discover it you will have to do a course with them ????.
Once we finished with the base, we put on the concealer, I have never been good at applying concealer and that is why many times when I was applying make-up I did not use it but that is changed now. Vivien advised me to mix the concealer with a little bit of primer and that way it helps to stay better and looks much more natural and undrying.
Then, we started with the bronzer and contour, I was taught where to apply the colour to make the face look fuller and visually mark the cheekbone and with the part we have left over in the brush, blur it in the hair growth and in the jawbone to give a more tanned look to the skin and mark the contour. I was also taught to polish the nose part with a play of colours with the highlighter in the centre and at the sides of the nose the bronzer to make it visually thinner.
When we finished marking the volumes, we started with the baking, this part is the one that caught my attention the most, I did not expect such a beautiful, polished and porcelain-like skin. This technique consists of applying loose powder on the sides of the nose and under the cheekbone and in this way, it avoids shining, the make-up is fixed and the skin is velvety and natural. At this point, we started with the eyes and the loose powder will be practically removed when we finish.
We continued with the eyebrows and it was the first time I was going to do them with powder (I always do them with pencil and then I fix them with gel) and I must say that I liked the result very much, they were polished and without being too exaggerated. The strong point was the eyes and they made it super easy for me, I only needed two eye shadows: an earth colour to mark the basin and give depth in the final third of the eye and the other with shine (it can be with metallic finish, shimmer or glitter) to bring light to the fixed eyelid in the inner third. It is important to blend the edges and between the colours very well but it is very simple, really.
To finish the eyes, we made a black eyeliner with a very fine tip pen and it was an impressive result.
Then we put on some very natural false lashes and Maria taught me that you have to put them on top of the natural lashes, in the centre and then glue the edges. It was the first time I wore false eyelashes and I promise that I will not be the only one, how nice it is to look well framed in eyebrows and well done lashes.
Then we put a little shadow of the previous earth colour on the lower eyelid and mascara on both the upper and lower lashes to integrate well with my false lashes.
And it was time to remove the translucent dust with a thick brush of loose hair, I could not believe how beautiful the skin looked. To finish off the cheeks, we put on highlighter and blush.
On the lips I chose a nude shade for that eye makeup so striking I preferred to have something softer on the lips and this is the result.
I encourage you all to contact Vivien and Maria, if you live in London or if you come to visit for a few days, it is a perfect plan for before a dinner and arrive radiant while learning how to do it when you are at home alone with your brushes. They both speak perfect Spanish and English so I wouldn’t hesitate to do a course with them.
What did you think of the result? I am looking forward to hearing your opinion.
