How many of us find it hard to make the transition from wearing a thousand layers of clothes, like an onion, to wanting to show off with little dresses, short sleeves, etc… And to see ourselves with a Casper white tone in front of the mirror? Today I bring you tan at home, so it won’t happen to you again!
It happens to me every year, so at this time of the year I start with the tanning operation and without a drop of sun.
I have been a big fan of self-tanning products for many years, and I have seen how they have been improving and offering an increasingly natural and healthy look.
Years ago, being a self-tanner user was synonymous with looking “orangey”, just as knees, fingers, elbows, and other problem areas looked patchy and blotchy. But this is definitely no longer the case.
There is a virtually limitless range of great products on the market that deliver great results for tan at home before leaving.
I am going to share some of the ones I have been able to test and use for quite some time, from all ranges and prices, so that finding your perfect shade does not become an odyssey ????
Body self-tanning products.
St. Tropez:
It was the first “high class” brand I tried. At the time you had to buy it outside Spain, and it promised supernatural results.
All of Hollywood bragged about using St. Tropez products, so this in itself was a good sign. It is still a reference brand. You get a supernatural direct or progressive tan!
Suitable for even the whitest of skin tones because you only get a couple of shades of tan with each application. Its plus is the easy application (the glove is essential) and that it does not leave knees, elbows, and problem areas with blotchy patches.
St. Moriz:
This brand was born from the success of its predecessor, with more affordable prices and generally easier to buy.
Their Medium and Dark mousse is great, leaving a much cooler tone than other brands, which is supernatural.
The Dark shade is only for daring or tanned skin all year round. The shade is totally Caribbean, and I love it!
Lancaster:
Specifically, the Gradual Self Tan Oil, for me, the best of all those I am mentioning. I always start with this one, even in the middle of winter at specific times.
It is the most gentle and gradual of all, and the oil format makes it perfect for application. It does not leave any colour breaks; no dry skin and the tone is a lovely subtle gold.
None of these three stain clothes (or sheets). All three are comfortable to wear and they wear off gradually (especially if you are prone to exfoliating your skin).
As I have tried all three and in this aspect, they offer the same comfort and effectiveness, I share them with you ????.
Self-tanning facial tanners:
St Tropez:
This brand, which I have told you about before, has one of the best self-tanning mists on the market. It is not my favourite, but it has given me great results with that tan at home.
With a super healthy tone, you only have to apply it in the middle of your skincare steps, I usually spread it with my fingertips, although it is not essential, it is a very light mist, and the result is visible in a couple of hours.
Clarins:
Clarins’ self-tanning face drops are a must-have from the brand. For me, they are the best thing I have ever come across.
I use them daily by mixing a few drops with my moisturiser, at the same time as I apply my skincare, I give my skin a tone.
It has a warmer tone than other brands, but it works great on my skin.
James Read:
The ferrari of self-tanning products. More specifically the Face Mask Tan face. You apply it with your night routine before going to bed, wait for it to be absorbed, just as we do with the Skincare, and the next day voilà!
A subtle, healthy, and beautiful tan at home. Good face effect guaranteed! You can apply it several times a week until you reach your ideal tone. No mystery. No stains on bed linen, no patches, no orange tones. Simply perfect!
These are all the ones that have fallen into my hands and of which I can assure you that the results are ten out of ten!
I highly recommend, as a previous step, a very well exfoliated skin (you can do it in the shower) and moisturised, so you will get ideal results.
By the way, keep an eye on my Instagram profile so you do not miss out on where you can buy these wonders????.
What about you? Do you tan yourselves at this time of the year?
