Hyaluronic Acid on lips

Hyaluronic Acid on Lips

Nowadays, hyaluronic acid on lips injections are one of the most demanded techniques in aesthetic medicine. In recent years, lip augmentation has been greatly improved and the results obtained are not related with the exaggerated mouths we could find in the 90s. This treatment provides volume, definition, eliminates wrinkles and provides hydration and more and more people, both men and women, are encouraged to see themselves with more harmonious lips.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance that we have naturally in our body, therefore, the rejection that our body can cause and the probability of an allergic reaction are drastically reduced, because it is biocompatible. On the other hand, and precisely for the same reason, this substance will be gradually reabsorbed by our body, so it would be necessary to refill it every so often, usually every 6-8 months (this can be a benefit or a disadvantage, depending on how you look at it). Anyway, there is another substance called hyaluronidase, which can also be found in vials, which breaks the chains of hyaluronic acid, so if the result is not as expected, we can infiltrate hyaluronidase and we would see us again as before.

How should hyaluronic acid on lips be applied?

The technique has to be done on clean skin and although local anesthesia is not necessary, it is recommended to use an anesthetic cream about 20-30 minutes before the operation to minimize discomfort, in addition, some brands of vials have lidocaine which is an anesthetic substance, which helps much more to make the punctures as painless as possible. Afterwards, the doctor prepares to infiltrate according to the patient’s requirements, which allows him to go little by little and design the lip on the fly and, above all, it is very important that the patient sees the results immediately, so he can decide if he wants more or if on the contrary he already has the desired thickness. Doctors always advise to go little by little, if the patient wants a more drastic increase, it is better to do it in several sessions instead of one and thus leave a natural result.

After the infiltration, we have to consider that our lips will be swollen and we should wait a couple of days to see the final result with the hyaluronic acid settled on our lips. In the following days, we will take special care: not to expose our lips to high temperatures or UVA rays, avoid touching them or making sudden movements. Although it is not contraindicated to apply makeup to your lips, there are people who prefer to use only lip balm in the first days to provide extra hydration, however, you must always follow the instructions given to us by the doctor to achieve an optimal result.

So , if you are encouraged by the hyaluronic acid on lips, leave us your comment.
