5 expert tips: How to keep your eye shadows from moving

Hi! As I commented in the previous post, how to look like a perfect eyebrow, today we are going to go over the five expert tricks so that our eye shadows do not move.

That great drama that has happened to all of us to a greater or lesser extent.

Almost always it is for one of the five points that we are going to go over next, so, if it is your case, grab a paper and a pen, and let us get started

What are the tips for my eye shadows?

Clean and dry eyelids

The first and biggest mistake of all, is not having the eyelids free of product and dry. It is one of the mistakes I see most in my formations, and once avoided, the duration of your makeup will multiply as if by magic.

If you have applied any cream or treatment on them, do it in advance so that there is no residue at the time of makeup.

Also do not apply concealers in these with the intention that the eye shadows last longer. Correctors and bases are creamy products, prepared to remain juicy and natural on the skin. If you apply something fluid on the eyelid, you will only be facilitating that, throughout the day, with heat and friction, the shadows end up accumulating in the fold of our eyes.

If you want to keep doing it, use a full cover and matte finish concealer, (you will recognize it if when you try it on your hand, it dries quickly and marks all your little folds), but apply extraordinarily little quantity and well extended, or you will get a cracked and heavy finish.

Use a primer

Without a doubt the best option. You will find in the market infinity of eye primers to choose the one that better fits you. Fluid texture, ointment, with or without colour… In all cases, it is important to apply little quantity, warming it up beforehand, and completing the whole eyelid, from the tear duct to the eyebrow tail.

As a tip, do not apply it by touching, but by gently dragging. Although it is a product that is not easily seen, if it is applied unevenly, the eye shadows will cling to patches and unevenly, creating a slightly polished finish.

Layers

Apply your eye shadows little by little, building up the intensity with small layers, and stop when you see that the skin does not take any more product.

This way, you will avoid that over time, with every blink, the excess will fly to your cheeks or accumulate in your folds.

Powder products

You can use your powder shadows alone, or over cream shadows. In both cases it is important that you consider the previous point in order not to overload the eyelid.

In addition, when you get new makeup products, I recommend buying brands with “dry” shadows, you will recognize them because they make a very pigmented swatch, but the finger does not slide easily on the arm, leaving a short line that stops staining quickly.

This means that these eye shadows are of high quality (because of their pigmentation), and that they grip the skin very well. So, if you suffer from folds in your makeup, these are the best option against the more buttery and soft shadows.

Cream products

In the post “Which eye shadow should I use?“, we talked about the different types of eye shadows we could find in the market, their pros and cons. Take a look at it to know which ones fit better with you, it will also help you a lot with this problem.

I told you that the creamy shadows are one of my favourites, because, if used well, they give very good results.

It is important that you look for waterproof and long-lasting characteristics. Once they are found, we have our ideal product to avoid creases, but it is very important to apply the right amount and not a bit more, so that they create an immovable colour veil throughout the day.

I hope I have helped you, thanks for being there, and if you want to leave a comment I’ll be happy to reply!

See you soon :).
