Do I use a mask or a scrub? In today’s post I will explain why you should use Masque Peeling Glycolique from Caudalie’s Vinoperfect range, if you have not already.
First of all, let us analyse the product: it is a mask because you apply it and leave it on for 10 minutes and then remove the product. And it is a chemical exfoliator, because it removes dead cells from the surface layer of the skin by means of a chemical reaction, without any abrasive mechanical action, as is the case with the more classic, physical exfoliators.
This exfoliant or peel removes dead skin cells found in the superficial layer or stratum corneum of the epidermis.
These are cells that are dead and without function, they are destined to be shed and make way for new cells in a process of skin regeneration that occurs naturally every month.
Peeling accelerates this process with the aim of refining texture, improving skin quality and evening out skin tone.
What key ingredients does it have to fulfil this premise?
The acceleration of epidermal regeneration is exerted by Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), specifically glycolic acid, but also lactic acid and tartaric acid. These ingredients are acids with a hydroxyl group (OH), which have a cornodesmolytic action.
This means separating the joints between the cells of the stratum corneum, the corneocytes, which hold them together in the form of a layer. This facilitates their detachment and the subsequent epidermal regeneration process.
The depigmenting action is due to Viniferine, a molecule derived from grapes and patented by Caudalie. It acts by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for producing melanin, which causes pigmentation to appear on the skin. Viniferine reduces the appearance of skin blemishes and helps to even out skin tone.
How to apply Masque Peeling Glycolique?
Apply the product twice a week to dry skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.
Who is this type of mask for?
It is particularly suitable for skin with blemishes, fair skin that wants to prevent blemishes, dry and oily skin.
Who is it not for?
It is not suitable for sensitive skin, as the glycolic acid, due to its small size, can be irritating for some skins. However, I recommend testing the product and assessing skin tolerance, especially considering that it is a product that requires rinsing and therefore remains on the skin for a limited time.
Why do I recommend it?
- Because the brand is committed to eco-responsibility: it uses 100% recyclable packaging made from recycled glass and plastic, which is more environmentally friendly.
- Because the texture of the product is very tasty.
- Because it is effective after just one use: the skin is brighter and smoother after application.
- Because it is a dermatologically tested product: The website specifies the clinical studies carried out and each ingredient that stands out in the formula has an explanation. Specifically, 100% of women observed an immediate and long-lasting radiance, in a clinical study with 19 volunteers who applied the product according to its recommended use and after 28 days its effect was evaluated.
