AVENE A-Oxitive – Antioxidant Serum

Today we bring you this antioxidant serum from Avene for those moments after the summer when we have seen the ravages of the sun on our skin, and we are looking for products that give us back the lost luminosity and correct all the damage caused by the sun.

What is it and what do we use it for?

This concentrated vitamin C serum provides the skin with protection against photo-ageing, radiance, and an antioxidant shield.

In addition, as it contains 15% pure Vitamin C, it helps to correct all the damage caused to the skin by overexposure to the sun, such as: spots, sagging, dull complexion, etc.

What assets does Avene AOxitive hold?

It combines two of the most effective active ingredients against free radicals, vitamin C and E, which also have synergistic activity and enhance the antioxidant and anti-ageing action of this serum.

• A scorbyl Glucoside or Pro-Vitamin C is the main and most concentrated. This active ingredient is highly antioxidant, so it will fight and counteract the effects produced by the free radicals that are generated when we are exposed to the sun. It also boosts collagen and elastin synthesis, thus preventing flaccidity and wrinkles. Last but not least, vitamin C inhibits the formation of melanin, thus helping to even out skin tone and reduce the formation of spots.
• T ocopheryl Glucoside or Pro-Vitamin E, an active ingredient with synergistic activity when combined with Vitamin C. It prevents the oxidation and degradation that vitamin C usually undergoes in aqueous media and enhances its antioxidant action.
• Artemia extract, a zooplankton that has an extraordinary ability to survive in the most extreme conditions. Under unfavourable environmental circumstances, it synthesises a large number of nucleotides, such as GP4G (diguanosine tetraphosphate). When conditions improve, the organism wakes up and the stored GP4G releases its energy in order to restart all vital processes.
• Thermal water has soothing properties and is low in minerals (266 mg/L) including calcium, magnesium, silica, and trace elements.

How is Antioxidant Serum?

Very light emulsion that is absorbed very quickly. The perfume is fresh and very subtle.

The only downside is the packaging, it is airless and you have to be a little careful when pressing the pump, as it can splash. Perhaps it is too fluid, although it is very pleasant on the skin.

I love using this serum in the morning, it is very light and my combination skin tolerates it very well. It leaves a very natural glow on the skin and the scent is fresh and very pleasant.

I have been using this serum all summer, as that’s when I am most overexposed to the sun, and although I always wear sunscreen, it never hurts to have extra antioxidant protection.

Free radicals are the main culprits of photoaging and end up affecting a multitude of cellular processes that lead to spots, lack of luminosity and uneven texture.
