Care for your Microbiome, Life Plankton Elixir Serum

Because it is just as important to help fight wrinkles as it is to help improve the quality of our skin, this serum combines the anti-ageing action of vitamin C with a cocktail of active ingredients that help care for the skin’s microbiome.

What is microbiota?

The skin microbiota is composed of different microorganisms that live on the surface of the skin. This population of microorganisms helps maintain the integrity of the skin.

External agents such as UV exposure, pollution or even stress can disrupt these populations, either harming the beneficial flora or encouraging the growth of pathogens. If this balance is disturbed over a long period of time, skin disorders such as psoriasis, acne or atopic dermatitis can occur.

What are pre-, pro- and postbiotics?

In cosmetics we can find different combinations of active ingredients that can help to protect or even restore our microbiota:

  • Prebiotics: are the “food” of our microbiome and stimulate the growth of beneficial microorganisms.  They optimise, maintain, and restore the microbiota, thereby boosting the skin’s natural defence system.
  • Probiotics: these are “live microorganisms”, but in cosmetics, live microorganisms cannot be used, they are fractionated.
  • Postbiotics: These are “molecules excreted by microorganisms” and remains of bacteria. They are responsible for improving the ecosystem of microorganisms so that they can develop better.

What active ingredients does it contain? Helps care for your microbiome.

  • Cocktail of pre-, pro-, and post-biotics that help regenerate the skin and keep it in optimal condition.
  •  Hyaluronic acid in salt form (high molecular weight): due to its large size, it is not able to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. It remains on the surface of the skin and has the ability to moisturise very effectively.
  • Fragmented hyaluronic acid (low molecular weight): if it is able to penetrate into the deepest layers. Once there, it captures water and swells, having a great capacity to fill wrinkles.
  • Vitamin C: a form of stabilised ascorbic acid, which is highly active in the production of collagen and elastin. As well as helping to combat blemishes and uneven tone.

Review @Inside_cosmetics. Cristina’s opinion

This serum is very pleasant to apply and is full of active ingredients that will help to take care of our microbiota, as well as helping to reduce wrinkles and expression lines.

It has a very pleasant fragrance, and the skin is velvety smooth after applying the serum. It is perfect for both day and night application. I have even used it as a make-up primer, as the skin is quite moisturised, and the make-up spreads much better.

The pipette-shaped dispenser makes it perfect for application to a specific area of the face. Spread the product on the cheeks, forehead, eye contour and chin.

It is a product with very important active ingredients for the care of our skin, because if the skin is not in perfect condition, the treatments that are applied will not have as much effect.
